This user guide intends to help you use the tools and components of bistro, i.e. the term search, the corpus search and the two term tools for term extraction and term recognition. You can access all these components by clicking on the corresponding menu items on the left hand side of the screen.

To search a term in bistro’s terminology database select the first menu item term search.

If you wish to enter the two corpora of legal and administrative texts, CATEx and CLE, select the second menu item corpus search. In bistro’s corpus section you can also use the system to search a selection of specialised internet sites (button ). Finally, it is possible to carry out a particular type o corpus search, the KWIC-search (Key Word In Context search), that displays all search terms within the segment of a sentence in which they occur.

The two term tools under the last menu item are the term recognition and term extraction module.
